Distinguishing Italian 3rd WB and 4th Ed

Post by berkumps » Wed Mar 12, 2008 12:51 am

I am having trouble distinguishing between these two sets. I am assuming the Channel on the right is 4th Ed, but I have no idea:

Also, is there a "dark" printing and "light" printing for Italian 3rd WB (or 4th, whichever set it is)? Or does this just affect a couple cards only?

Thanks

Italian Revised (WB and BB) are 1994
Italian 4th is 1995

I usually look at Global Stone Rain or Pickle69's website to see what the date + language it is

I thought only French 3rd WB was dated 1994, and both Italian and German were dated 1995?

That's correct.
The one on the left and in the middle are both italian wb Revised (Seconda Edizione). The one on the right is 4th edition. I think the dark/light print are just natural variations within the set.

The dirty details on how to tell these sets apart was well documented by Ralph and is archived in a post here:

What are the 11 cards from French Revised BB with a 1995 copyright date? And are these also in German and/or Italian 3rd BB?

My mistake, I thought you meant French Revised BB had 11 cards with '95 date.

Sorry, it was also my mistake. In the first time, the notice from me was BB (wrong) and not WB (correct).

I can confirm :

1 Edizione Italiana - Italian Revised Black Bord 1994

2 Edizione Italiana - Italian Revised White Bord 1995

4 Edizione Italiana - 4th italian edition White Bord 1995

The differences, for Italian Revised WB and 4th edition, are text in box text (in 4th is "restricted") and Copyright line (in Revised is "bold" in 4th is "thin")
