How much is the AP version compared to the Beta version?

For most cards the AP version is more expensive. The exceptions I can think of are Time Vault and Maybe the Duals. The Beta versions have increased value because they are popular in the game and they aren't restricted.

As far as Mind Twist is concerned, I paid less for my Ap's then I did for either my beta or alpha ones.
I'm looking for odd/rare Mind Twists.

only one set of APs was given out for A/B/U/Collector's Edition - one's with sq corners. this set is usually referred to as beta APs.

Did each artist get 50 copies of the A/B/U/CE proof cards? Amy Weber identified the that the Ankh of Mishra was 5/50 on the sheets pictured...if each artist was given 50 copies...then WOW...Chris Rush paid cash for his home AND his beach house.

For the this particular set there were 50 of each. I'm not 100% sure but I doubt that he was able to sell the lotus APs at the premium its commanding today. The lotus APs ran out fairly early.

ROTFL.. Boy it is hard to look back without the rose colored glasses.

First off, APs were given to artists as a freebe just for the purpose of using them to advertise their work, show appreciation to someone or put under a coffee table leg to keep the table from tipping. Sell them? I remember when $5.00 for one was considered highway robery. When I asked Chris one time if he made a lot off his BL APs he just got a wistful look in his eye, sighed and said "boy if I only knew then what I know now...." It was years later, literally, that appreciation for APs started bringing money in. I recall a conversation at the Worlds in Toronto between 3 artists where one of them said "... ya, I got some boxes of those. What do you do with them anyway?"

Secondly, 50 was a target number. It was not always met (though I think the first set may have been on target).

Has anyone heard of any of these artists actually discarding the proofs? That would be pretty horrible to come this far and then discover that there is no hope to find a particular card.

So far this is an IMPRESSIVE undertaking! =D>

I'm almost sure that someone on the forum has a complete set.
