Kickstarter thread

I keep coming across Kickstarter projects that are MtG related so I figured I would start a thread and just post in it every time a new pops up.

Saw this one yesterday...
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/20 ... y_launched

I sent the project team asking if they could make a transparent 'starter/tournament' sized deck box so I could store my collection of starters without them getting damaged each time I handled them, and I guess I brought up clam shell blister packs for boosters and possibly giant 2 part acrylic boxes that could fit a full sized 36 count booster box, so I guess I rambled a bit but they seemed interested so it was their own fault!

Sadly I don't need any deck boxes but I wish them the best of luck anyway.

A plot to corner the market in Alchor's Vault!

No idea if this is feasible but as it only ships in the USA I guess it doesn't matter.

I am pretty sure that this is illegal. Not only League of LEgends characters are being used here (Property of Riot) but also mana symbols and the like of MtG.

Hmmmmmm...
I agree with Cesar, At this point the key question is the use of the copywrited material for commercial or financial gain. I would think a kickstarter is surely financial gain. Maybe WotC hasn't seen it.

I'm thinking WotC won't really be interested unless the product impacts sales or in some way costs them money or, their lawyers don't have anything to do. The problem with these kind of things is that they are difficult to define and not really yes or no, and if the people doing it are not wealthy enough to make it worth while you can do a lot of work for nothing. If someone really makes something that becomes popular and starts making money--- new game.

If that device is working and 100% reliable, this will be a great one to get.

I am tempted to back that project!

I am surprised to know that something like that might work (Will it work on rebacks?).

I have to investigate a bit and talk with that guy, and will try to back it if I find it legit.

Skeptical that it is that simple, but this is at least an idea worth backing.

"Magic: The Gathering - Custom Novelty and Proxy Cards is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable."

Way back in the olden days, around 1994, I was your typical nerd, who spent long nights playing D&D, drinking Mountain Dew and eating 7-11 nachos with the rest of the nerd herd. But one day, a historical thing happened in the nerd time line, a card game called Magic The Gathering hit the scene. Of course being the uber nerd that I am, I spent more then a few paychecks on those mystical tomes of fantasy. It went on like this for a few years until the unthinkable happened, I met a girl. A woman is the nerds kryptonite
:-D :-D :-D

I think the Magic: the gathering community is large enough that people are seeing it more and more as a market and trying to get into it any way they can.
