Question about Ebay fraud investigation.

Post by gzeiger » Mon Dec 06, 2010 10:05 pm

Last night I noticed a guy who had just sold about ten auctions titled something like
MTG Mythic Rare Jace the Mind Sculptor!!!

In the description, down at the bottom in the fine print, he said "the winner of this auction will receive a Jace the Mind Sculptor or a mythic rare from my collection." These closed between $31 and $63.

I reported one of the auctions at random as fraudulent, and now today they have all disappeared from the completed auctions search. I've never heard of Ebay removing an already completed listing before. Is this standard practice? Does anyone know what happens now to the buyers of those auctions?

I have a funny feeling all of the buyers will be issued refunds and the Seller will be banned.

I've never heard of them pulling auctions after they close but it's good practice because it will really mess up the marketing programs to figure out card values.

They do pull auctions after they close. I had bought and paid for and auction. I attempted to reference it in my paypal dispute but the auction was gone. This was before they combined paypal and ebay so its been goin on for a while.

They pull auctions still. About a month ago I bought a card, it was fake. I sent it back and the seller stopped responding. I filed a dispute and Ebay sided with the seller even after a couple other people left feedback that the seller sold fakes. After a day or two all the seller's completed auctions were deleted as was his profile. Ebay then began ignoring my emails. Needless to say, F@#K EBAY!

Wow! that is good to know. If I have a problem I'll be sure and copy the pages rather than just link them.
