He bought Metalworkers from you and wants to pay by direct bank transfer? If that's the case, he's probably asking about your IBAN number and your SWIFT code. Your full name is probably required too.

(if you do not know your number + code, ask your bank )

That seems plausible. What is an IBAN number and Swift code?

The IBAN number is your bank account number, in a international standard. The SWIFT (or BIC) code is the international code for your bank. For example, my SWIFT/BIC code is NDEASESS and my IBAN is SE followed by 22 digits

Edit: From my bank:

BIC - Bank Identifier Code.
IBAN - International Bank Account Number.

I just checked Wikipedia, it seems that the number of digits in the IBAN is different for each country. Dunno why though, my IBN is mostly zeros anyway :-P

I'm not sure US banks work with IBAN codes.

You'll certainly need a BIC-SWIFT code (looks something like ABALUNXXX) and obviously the account number and it's holder's name.

The ABA ROUTING code is also required for transfers to the USA.

And yes, IBAN codes vary in length according to the country (italian IBAN codes are 27 characters).

Nope they don't. That's why it is sometimes very difficult to transfer money to the US.
