Ok, this is certainly among the stupidest Topics ever, but I hope you'll put up with me (after all, we recently discovered I was born the same day as AXIOS ;D)
I noticed several members' animated Avatars (e.g. mine, Mintcollectors', Axios's, Pickle.69's etc.) are moving much more quickly lately.
Does this depend on the browser I'm using (I recently switched from Explorer to Firefox Mozilla) ?

PS - Mintcollector's Avatar moving so quickly is especially funny [smiley=laugh.gif], as well as Axios's [smiley=laugh.gif]

Re: Quick-moving Avatars
dunno,
i use firefox for a long time now, and never seen any difference.
i'll try to install IE again to check to see what you mean.
mike's diablo is indeed really funny when he is waving his claws in such a fast way, makes you think......
compared:
there is indeed a (small) difference

I checked too - there is a definately a difference in speeds from Mozilla to IE. Its even worse under Konqueror.

Re: Quick-moving Avatars
I noticed this sometime ago. At home things appear fine, but at work I have noticed it running very fast. I am running IE at home as my cable modem interface uses it, but at work I am using Netscape Communicator...and have the latest version.
My avatar is hosted by Ralph.....so I am wondering in the bit rate is somehow being not translated correctly by certain browsers.
Axios: Are you hosting your own avatar or is Ralph doing it for you? I am just curious if it is related to Avatars hosted by Ralph.

Re: Quick-moving Avatars
Well, judging by the downloaded versions of mintcollector's avatar (I downloaded it in both Firefox and IE), it's a bug in Internet Explorer. The GIF file is set with a frame duration of 2/100 seconds per frame. Firefox is displaying it correctly, while Internet Explorer slows it down greatly.
Edit: On the other hand, AXIOS's avatar is set to 1/100 seconds per frame, and both Firefox and IE display it at the same greatly reduced speed.
