Anyone ever heard of white front cards?

Post by Worth » Thu Aug 25, 2005 11:12 pm

Friend has one, wondering on value...

It looks like a normal fourth ed. lightning bolt, except it's totally devoid of color. Back is normal.

Any ideas?

Yep, usually called albinos. The most widely seen ones are from Ice Age. I don't have scans of any off hand, but I know a few people here have them. Never heard of any from 4th Edition though.

I've got a Meteor Shower (I think that's what it is) at home that's albino.

Gonna have a new printer/scanner soon so I can start scanning again..

Hi there,

I'd be interested in getting it. I would need to see a detailed hi-res scan to clearly assess value, but I'm thinking something in the $100 range.

Best regards,
Eric.

I saw an albino bolt years back at a pre-release here in Illinois. A dealer had some on a display board for a contest they were having as prize.

So, I assume it looks like this?

http://fvzappa.photosite.com/Apr042005/nv01_006.html

That's even from the correct edition/ set.

A bunch of albinos from Ice Age surfaced on ebay a while back, one lucky guy got about a dozen in a pack ages ago. But him aside, I've seen many more albinos from other sets. I myself have about 12, plus an albino- backed card. I've seen several from probably a total of 10 different sets. They aren't cheap- prices vary widely though. The cheapest I ever got one for was $50 (from Antiquities), but it was a "favor" more or less.

If you need more info, I'd be glad to help, I can share more info that I'd rather not post... and yes, I'd be interested in owning the Bolt if you are looking to move it.

I'd like it too. Especially if you will trade it for cards...especially if you are interested in monkey tokens
