Question about s-chinese 5th

Post by rg » Fri Jul 23, 2004 12:21 am

I just got my first s-chinese 5th and noticed the set symbol is printed across the picture border.

Is this normal ?

Unfortunately gzeiger's ebay picture is to small to see how the symbol is printed  ;)

Proabably a misprint of some sort... it sometimes happens...

WotC is terrible about checking the templates, especially foreign sets.  Makes for a slew of unique-ish cards, though, which isn't all bad for the import market :)

All of my cards from that set are printed that way. Very interesting - I had not noticed before.

I have been told that this displacement is present on all blue and land cards of the Simplified Chinese Fifth Edition.

Looking closer that does seem to be the case. I had blue cards in the front of my binder. The blue ones seem to have the symbol actually offset, while on the land cards the symbol is in the same place as on other colors and artifacts, but the lands have a triple border. It's beveled and then has a ring of color around the frame, as you can see in the picture above.

The only card I have from this Set (Armageddon - white) does not show this overlapping of the expansion symbol, confirming what Ralph said.
