Why would Christopher Rush make fakes and then give them to his girlfriend/wife?

You guys are too suspicious.

Being APs I can easily see sheets of just one card, which would handily explain having the same card on both sides.

there are only 50 ap's per card,
a sheet consists of 11x11 equals more then 50.
That would mean that there would be a lot of fillers, white front, white back.
never seen those before......

yes, the reason this is unlikely is because each printing plate costs tens of thousands of dollars. It makes no economic sense for them to create one for each card just to do the artist proof. It is far more likely that they just used the original sheets and just didn't print backs. The only way for this to happen is if the ishan shade is in the direct center of the sheet. I hope it's real. one way to verify is to look at a german homelands sheet and see the actual layout.

I own these cards and I would sell them as LEGIT. I realy like the discussion about the card and hope we get more info about the printing process , as I think the "defect" can be explained with that. Actually this is THE information I would realy love to have not only as a student of mechanical engineering but also as a collector.

I can confirm theyre real. Eron the Relentless also exists, I've seen them in person, owned by another WotC employee. The Chris Rush story is the exact same one I got told to me by the owner, years ago.

I can also confirm the Eron the Relentless. I actually sold one on here quite a while ago along with an Ishan's Shade. Both were German, double-sided, and upside-down. I've been looking for others for years, but that's nothing new!

Good find, Richard :P

Of course I'll want one, though I'm closely following the debate on how this happened.

Given only a couple of Homelands cards were accounted for (which is extremely unlikely), I would rather believe these are some sort of leaked-out test prints (in that case with a sheet containing only Ishan's Shades) rather than Artist Proofs. Is that possible ?

I for a short time thought that maybe they where printed one by one.
like attached to a sheet and then waited till dry turned arround and trough the machine again. But I do not think the machine could handle the douple paperthickness to good.
Also they are all EXACTLY the same.
I have contacted a person who also owns one and his is in all details like mine. Same sizes in Offcenterness and another small coincidence I will need to make better pics to explain. but my camara is on a trip in italy. I will have to ask freinds for theires. maybe on the weekend.

I favorit the version with only shades in the printing and a smaller sheet. then turned it over and thats it. Maybe it also had the Eron (also a rush artwork) on it too.

Also Ben I do not think a printig plate cost several ten- thousand bucks.

hmmm I'd vote D. Simply because this is the first time I have heard or seen anything like that, so I presume these are pretty rare.
