Hope all our east coast US members are faring well. NYC and NJ are getting battered pretty hard, lots of flooding tonight as the high tide rolled in, and many people from DC up to Maine are without power.

I'm doing pretty well. Had lots of rain and lots of wind. Power was up and down much of last night, but seems stable now. I have a bit of cleanup, but since I wasn't in a storm surge I'm counting my blessings.

Anyone heard from Blood?

I know it is only one email he hasn't responded to but he hasn't posted since the hurricane either (not that I have noticed anyway!)

Can we do a quick roll-call?

Hey thanks for asking. We survived with only rolling power outages, down trees and standard storm stuff. I will reply to your email today. I have been without access to internet for and my phone broke. Jason

Storm trashed the Jersey and Connecticut shores, and the Hudson River Basin (Staten Island, Manhattan and Jersey Cities like Hoboken) as you have probably seen on TV or the Internet.

But the storm also trashed PA and Northwest NJ (along with Maryland, Delaware, and Parts on NY) with tons of wind and / or rain. Took down tons of trees, which meant lots of places without power. Things have cleaned up pretty quickly, but there were thousands of downed telephone poles and tens of thousands of individual power outages, all of which were labor intensive repairs. Things are getting better, but not as fast as anyone hoped.

Well the email can wait!

I figured it might just be a case of power outages but they only give you bad news on the radio so you always fear the worst!

How long before everything is back to normal out there?

First big snow/ice storm also rolling through tonight, slowing the recovery. Stay warm!

Man I feel for those people. It looks like one BAD NE winter storm coming.

Hope FEMA can do the same for those folks (shipping them off to comfy motels in warm places) as they did for the Katina victims.

Waiting for news from him for 3 weeks now (last message being "I mail you this evening"), was wondering if something bad happened... :-\
