It apparently is NHK's story of the domos, and it is very very sad. :'-(
But my translation skills are limited. I know my kana pretty well, but even so I'm having trouble forming the sentences correctly.
I'm most interested in the translations of 2:14 and forward, can anyone help?
I want to know actually what the text says is happening, I'm sure someone here can tell me.

0.23 : The earth was filled with green(plant) and light
0.35 : Mean while, that weird creature......
0.45 : There were a lot of them
0.57 : They were all friendly
1.19 : peacefully
1.49 : living (peacefully was repeated twice if translated)
1.53 : One day....
1.59 : One of them found a tree with red nuts
2.15 : After 1 bite, it was sweet and sour
2.27 : Everybody kept eating it
2.33 : then....oh gosh
2.44 : Everyone started sleeping, and never woke up.
2.56 : Those who didnt eat it were all sad.
3.11 : "Cant stand sadness"
3.17 : Those who thought about that....
3.36 : Formed a line and disappeared into the hills.
3.42 : Few days after they left....
3.56 : The first snow fell on earth.
4.08 : The snow keping snowing for days....years.......
4.17 : Made most species freeze to death.
4.29 : Where have they gone to?
4.34 : Nobody knows

Sorry if the grammer might be weird cause i just went thru it once w/o checking and too lazy to check.

Is it basically saying the domos who ate the fruit died?
Or did they just sleep forever? The domo story is just too sad, why is it so sad?

the clip says "they started sleeping and never woke up"
so i assume it really just means they slept forever, but not died.
