Is it April first already?

Seriously, can someone confirm this with a press release? Why hasn't it been mentioned on wizards.com or anything?

No game movie ever turns out well... Maybe a movie about game players (King of Kong, Bobby Fischer) would be better.

Never saw King of Kong (isn't it a documentary), Garri Kimowitsch Kasparow would be a good check movie too, but he doesn't have a that complicated story as Fischer though.

The Yugioh movies did well, so did the Pokemon cards. And those movies were basically advertisements for the card games.

Anyway I agree a movie about card players would probably be better.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does that post also say Hasbro is planning movies based on Candy Land and Monopoly??

That's the thing though... Disney did a good job with its own intellectual property. They have a lot to lose if they screw up their own creations.

Universal or whoever really doesn't lose anything if they make a crappy movie based on a Hasbro idea. As long as they make some $$$ they don't really care about the long term. If they redo a classic Universal Horror movie or something they would likely put more effort into it cause that's a Universal property.
