Help testing something on my other site

Post by l0qii » Thu Jan 22, 2009 6:22 pm

Hey guys, I made a silly little web page that shows you 2 random cards and lets you pick which one you think is better. I need some help stress testing it before I make it public. If you have a moment please check it out and post your feedback here. It's here:

thanks

Nice Tim.
Instead of only percentage maby show the number of votes?

also i noticed the following:

Breeding Pool 66%
Noggle Hedge-Mage 0%

Sinkhole 50%
Stomping Ground 66%

Chalice of the Void 61%
Leyline of the Void 0%

Lightning Bolt 100%
Rancor 50%

and Fists of Ironwood imgae not available.

I use Opera 9.50.

I guess your percentages involve all the runs for a card, and not head to head with the other card. This makes sense, but people normally want percentages to add up to 100%.

Correct, and good point.

Might be better.

Agree wholeheartedly.
I was totally confused about the percentages.

Ah, thats why. I was getting all sums to 100 for a long while so figured it was the specifik head to head.

Ok, I made the data a bit more interesting, and less confusing. Take another look

It's easy to keep going and not stop. Just one more...

How come Chalice of the Void keeps coming up? It seems like there are a few cards that come up a lot -- also Auntie's Hovel.

It's not completely random, otherwise you'd spend 90% of your time rating terrible commons. If the same cards keep coming up I'll have to adjust it a little to make it stop doing that.

I'm not on facebook, but a lot of people I know are. I'm surprised none of them ever mentioned this!

Quite fun! :-D

The image Aether Vial image didn't load when I was playing with it. I also didn't see any percentages at any point ... I played for a while and figured I must be missing something!

By the way, I found that the little menus at the top left of your pages appear as the cursor passes over them, but don't disappear again, so they end up "stuck on" and overlapping ... is this a feature or a bug?

I'm using IE if it helps/matters. :-\'

I got rid of them. They were confusing.

Yikes! looks like newer versions of IE (or maybe just on Vista) handle javascript differently. It works fine in IE6, I'll have to look into that.

The first time I tried I was suprised when I was asked to logon with a user name and password and provided with a word that was hard to read. ](*,) Did I miss something?

Needless to say I was not able to do anything but look at the two (2) cards that were in competition although I would have voted for Watery Grave.

The second time there was no logon requirement I saw different cards and I got to vote.

The third time there was no logon requirement once again I saw different cards and I got to vote. As the only person to vote on Jasmine Boreal vs Punish Ignorance. The latter card with one vote (mine) got five stars, but Jasmine with no votes got 1/2 star.

Hope this helps,

Ed
