EOI: Group buy on Chinese Boosters

Currently there a few Chinese booster boxes up on eBay, I am after one of each booster for my set, I don't need a whole box

Postage for one box is $35, I have asked about combined shipping and the seller wants to know how many boxes.

As it stands, if we split a single box, it would cost $4 (($110+$35)/36) per booster, plus your choice of postage to your door.

Not a bad price but not that exciting.

Postage is $18 to me in Australia and the seller does combine shipping (awaiting a response to my email to find out how much of a discount), so for one of the cheaper boxes each booster would be $2.70 plus your choice of postage. The more expensive ones would cost $3.80 + postage of your choice.

So... anyone else want to buy a couple of boosters at bulk discount prices?

Expressions of Interest only at this stage, if we get enough interest we can proceed to a buy. I have no idea how many people are interested in Chinese sealed boosters, guess I will find out.

The small print...

Each person will pay the exact split and postage, no charge for packaging or middleman fees (I get to buy cheaper boosters, that's all I need out of the deal)

If only a few boosters are needed from each box then it probably won't go ahead, I don't mind having doubles, but three or four sets is more than I need.

Each person pays the same amount for a booster in the same box, whether you buy one or ten, obviously the more you buy the better value for postage.

If anyone on this site can offer a better deal then don't be shy.

Postage to the USA is only $7, so if a member in USA can take receipt of the box then the unit cost per booster would drop by about 30 cents.

It will be easier to split a whole box of M12 than Torment for instance, for booster collectors there are 7 full sets in a box of M12 but you would need 36 collectors to empty a box of Torment, however this isn't just for booster collectors, anyone who wants to crack a single pack can also join in.

So all I need to know is;

Any USA members happy to take advantage of the cheaper postage and get it delivered to them? It would mean you get the pleasure of opening the boxes, addressing the envelopes and posting them out, so I can see why you wouldn't want to!

Anyone want to buy some Chinese boosters anyway?

Any other boxes that you know of that would make a good group buy (Avecyn Restored in Korean for instance)

We will see if there is much more interest.

Between the three of us we have almost half a box for some of them, less for the 3 variety boosters and of course, a long way from the single variety boosters!

It could be a go-er!

We probably won't be able to get all the boxes unless there is massive interest but at least we may be able to pick up a few at a decent price!

Hi!

I don't know if this can be of any help valuewise, but I could be interested in some of those sets as complete collections. If any interest arises in unsealed product (global collectors, foil hunters, EDH lovers, whatever), I could make an offer for any complete (or near complete) set that could result from the leftovers. The offer would clearly be agreed upfront, with proper criterias to evaluate potentially missing items.

I know this requires bigger volumes, some risk and more work on the middleman side, so I just make this known and let to the forum any further eveluation.

Just to clarify, this seller is based out of Hong Kong, despite what his ebay location says. Everything I've ever ordered from goods-seller (MTGMintCard) has been posted from Hong Kong. It's unfortunate you didn't find his auctions sooner, as the box prices he has listed are 1.5-2x what he was selling them for last year. Many of them were $40-60 each.

I recognised the MTGMintCard name but not Goods Seller.

I have a friend in Taiwan, he occassionaly pops over to Hong Kong, it was his wedding so I guess he owes me!

I will see if he can go into one of his local games shops and get me a better price
