Re: Value: Some Misprint & Promo questions ...

Hey Jan-

Like I said, if you don't need it, it shouldn't be worth much to you!  I don't think most people would pay more than $10-$20, except wierdos who really want to have a huge misprint collection.

Re: Value: Some Misprint & Promo questions ...

Hey There, Those Nalathni's are pretty common - so's that mirri misprint.  I'm very fond of the German Jhovall Rider misprint, since it's such a drastic blooper, and it's so very hard to find German foils in the USA. I always say "A card is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it". I th...

Re: Ante cards missing from some non-English sets

I found out the truth of this topic the hard way...I won a "Complete set" of Portuguese Homelands on ebay for about $30 a few years ago.  When I got it, I was angry that it was missing a card.  I spent the next 3 or 4 years scouring the earth for a friggin Timmerian Fiends to complete the ...

Re: Weatherlight album

Even though these are out of print, they never really went up in value...don't know why - I love the set-specific binders! What does everyone else use now that they're out of print?  I've purchased a few home-made ones, but I think the guy i used to buy from got shut down by WOTC.  Hobby J...

Re: French Tempest Booster Box

Thanks!  That's great.  Keep an eye out for subtle shading mistakes on mana symbols too - like yello circles around colorless activation costs, grayed-out casting costs, etc.  I don't know of any major mistakes in french tempest off the top of my head, but I haven't looked at too much...

Gryf-

You planning on opening it?  If you do, let me know if you find any misprints - I haven't seen much french tempest.

See you tomorrow in Chicago?

Re: Urban legend all rare booster

There is a swap meet in the city of industry in LA where you can buy starters for $5, and about 5 years ago I got a 5th edition starter for kicks.  after I left, I went to a restaurant with some friends and opened it...every single uncommon slot was filled with a rare!!!!  I left my friend...

Magic Artist contact list?

Hello all, I was reading the post about Unglued artist proofs, and it looks like a couple of folks on this site have a great knowledge of contact info for artists.  I know that others think that signed cards are 'defaced', but i love throwing down my 'Father of Runes' altered by Scott F. WOTC u...

Re: foreign booster boxes

Weren't Japanese Nemesis boxes used as some kind of 'thank you' or promotional reward at some point?  It seems like the market was/is flooded with them - I got two for very very cheap a while back. I love non-english cards, but it's hard to find european language cards around chicago - anyone h...

Re: signed cards value

I don't know that NOBODY would be interested in it. Getting cards signed a Gen Con is my favorite pastime there.  Last year I saw a guy who said he was trying to get one of every magic artist signature.  He didn't have Fay Jones yet, and was very sad to find that several magic artists have...

Re: Insuring your collection?  Any suggestions?

Ugh - I just thought of another one.  When I was living in LA, I remember catching a local news report about a kid who had totalled his car on the 405 and died in the accident.  Well, you know how the news always has that street-level shot of the wreck with something personal in the foregr...

Re: Insuring your collection?  Any suggestions?

Wow  - thanks for all of the good advice!  If I can't get it covered through my own insurance, I will likely start off with just a fireproof safe -that's really my biggest fear.  I just don't see someone breaking into my house, recognizing which binders they should take, and nabbing t...
