Re: What non-magic ccgs are you into?

I think this question has cropped up before, a while back.
I don't play any other ccg's or collect the cards. I did once have a fun time playing Overpower at a con, and I played in a few Rage demos back in the day. I have some Jyhad and Spellfire, but I never played.

3D card #2

For my second run at a 3D cards I did Annul. I used matte board this time for spacers. I think it turned out better than the Chaos Charm. It's 6 layers. I still didn't bother to raise/lower the textbox though. Any feedback is appreciated.

Re: fake stuff on ebay... who was documenting fake

I'm the one that was documenting fakes. These are probably either from the batch that came out of California in 97/98 which I have an example of here: http://www.apathyhouse.com/mtg/fake/page50.php Or, they could be out of the Rochester/Buffalo NY batch from the same era. They are in fact 2 differen...

seriously, I'm surprised no one has seen one before. I'll ask around and see if I can turn one of them.

Re: German Ice Age

german IA are almost impossible to find around here. I have a handful of crappy cards just by chance. They typically don't sell for any more than their english counterpart, usually a little less.

Re: image theft of WotC

When Planeshift was released, Bob named the alternate art cards "chase cards", and because of this, he was approached by WotC and asked to rename the category
What was the purpose of that? I've used the term "chase cards" on my website. Should I ask Bob?

Re: My first attempt at a 3D card

The spacing material used is simple matting material you can find at any craft store selling framing/matting supplies.  You can get white, black, or whatever color you can get your hands on.  On my card, I opted to get a red ochre color to match the Dakmor background. Now you may ask, why...

Re: My first attempt at a 3D card

Don't some of the other 3D card makers use black spacers a couple mm thick to add more depth?
I do have spacers between each later. My spacers are just a card with the art cut out. I don't know what other people used.

Re: My first attempt at a 3D card

Thanks for the input. You're right about hte strand business, but angles would have been difficult for a first run. I chose a difficult card on purpose, just to see where my ability was at. It took the better half of an afternoon to complete. The only thing I used was an exacto knife and a cutting b...

I think 5000 is actually pretty high limit for stuff like this. Most high quality figures I see made are limited to 200,500, 1000...
Assuming they actually get released this time, I think they're be easy to acquire, at least in the US, through any comic or gaming store. They look amazing though!

Re: Looking for particular type of long box

This was the Multiverse gift box ( http://www.magiclibrary.net/rarities-multiverse.html ) and the cards were stored horizontally in those. My friend has most of the boxes asked for in the topic, I'm quite sure he doesn't get rid of them though... There's one for each colour and artifacts, I don't k...

Re: Looking for particular type of long box

You might be thinking of the anthologies gift box.

These long boxes were sold at a store near me years ago. There were maybe 4 or 5 dif ones? Along with boxes that were particular to a specific color. They were $1.75 a piece originally I think.

record of original art ownership for those who care to reveal that information. I was having a conversation about this idea just the other day, and also keep a history of original art sales that are made. I think this is really useful information for rarities collectors, especially those that are i...
