I saw that image floating around on various webpages several years ago. I think it's been stolen and reused several times. Who knows where the original came from. Great observation though... I never noticed that peculiarity. How odd... :-k

If you find the golden one you win a trip to the Wizards HQ, where you'll be inundated with their surreal and magical creations (the ones keep hidden from the public that is). At the end you'll blast off with Richard Garfield in a great glass elevator...

Hi fancyman, welcome to the forums! Good observations with the Revised starter decks. Now all you need to do is have your mom mail you one of the old starters and upload a video of you opening it so we can all see if it's got 2 or 3 rares. Kidding of course... :-D It sounds like the consensus is tha...

It is even worse than that. If you read the text of the auction it says that the card is actually a basic land that was made into a proxy... only their printer ran out of ink.

Wow.

So it's a failed attempt at a proxy of a $3 card and it sells for $27.

I just wanted to add that I clicked the link to the auctions before even reading anything in this topic... I then had the exact same experience and reaction as the previous posters. I thought it humorous to return to the topic only to read others describe my exact thinking. To all sellers out there....

Wait... you mean a summer Flying Carpet isn't worth $1,150? :-D On a serious note, I completely understand your frustration, but I think they just don't care. They also probably have an unlimited listing deal with ebay so fees are most likely not an issue (or are utterly negligible). If that's the c...

I'm not saying that the sequence on the sheet does not work. I'm saying "don't bank on it and don't be upset when it doesn't". I definitely don't disagree with that, especially for Alpha. As I mentioned, I have only seen a few beta starters opened (and even fewer Alpha) so my experience is extremel...

Has anyone tried looking at some of these (or other high grade) counterfeits under a microscope and comparing them to authentic cards?
