Foil cards are not suitable for a bend test and will crease. All foil promo cards, to my knowledge, have the same printing pattern as regular Magic cards. The Release Event promos have a specific foiling technique applied to them which sets them apart visually from regular foils. The FNM foils shoul...

bradleyjx: It is indeed possible that they are the same event. The problem is that they use two different logos and take place in two different locations (States in the US and Champs in the rest of the world), so I will probably be forced to create separate pages for them.

and yet another tournament environment - States

It seems WotC has introduced yet another tournament environment called States: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=events/magic/states The description sounds very close to the Champs tournaments but is listed separately. Part of the accompanying price structure is a promo card (of a yet unknown ide...

I love it. Black-bordered cards simply look better. And since the foil versions have been given a black border anyway starting with 7th Edition, the change is not groundbreaking (but nonetheless highly welcome in my eyes).

This is funny. I always interpreted the Guru symbol as a doctoral cap. Only after you called it an eye, I could see an eye in the symbol. I still think it is meant to be a doctoral cap, though.

Such an option is not available for phpBB 2.x. I can not say how effective it would be.

There are 24 versions of the City of Traitors misprint. You can see a list of all them as well as for all other cards here: http://www.magiclibrary.net/rarities-test.html I can not confirm every single version listed there, but from puzzling together the information I had, it seems very likely. Note...

I removed these images from the website a long time ago because they were looking crappy even back then and were just a random and incohesive selection of a vastly greater set of cards. My hope was to replace them with top quality images, but for different reasons, this plan has not come to fruition...

Thank you for your interest. The release dates of each card are still a piece of data tracked (a good example of an up-to-date and comprehensive list can be seen here ). Due to the fact that the release schedule of cards often enough collides with the internal collector's number of cards, however, I...

I am in the middle of reorganizing my entire collection and finally get rid of binders. Despite several precautionary measures, metal rings have damaged too many of my (originally mint) cards to bear it any longer. The ringless binders you which you speak have become part of my new solution. You can...

The problem with these cards is that they are not part of a branded program. The closest official brand I could refer them to was the DCI, hence the choice of title. I agree that the term is not ideal, so I might change it once I have a better understanding who exactly is given these cards under whi...

General remark: The tournament environment is called Japan Junior Tournament, a good abbreviation would therefore be JJT.
