Re: mirage starter deck

The main Carta Mundi plant is in Belgium.  The referenced page doesn't mention it because this is the "International" portion of the company (i.e. not in Belgium).

Re: mirage starter deck

Where are Magic cards printed these days?  I just randomly picked up a Mirrodin tournament pack box and it says Made in U.S. I know that this doesn't directly answer where Carta Mundi prints the cards, but here is some relevant information on Carta Mundi's website: http://www.cartamundi.com/Co...

Re: StarCityGames.com Offers Alt 4th cards for Sal

I don't think that Ben's behavior is unfair.  We all knew (at least in a sense) what Alt. 4th was, and we knew that it was rarer than regular 4th.  After I had acquired some Alt. 4th when buying a collection I set out to find more information about the set, and I came across information th...

Re: StarCityGames.com Offers Alt 4th cards for Sal

Regarding finding a disproportionate number of rares to uncommons, commons and lands, that is quite easily explainable.  Rares are going to change hands due to trading much more than uncommons and commons, so all you had to do was buy a collection from someone that happened to trade for some ra...

Re: StarCityGames.com Offers Alt 4th cards for Sal

The scans of Alt. 4th on this site do not do it justice. Grab a blacklight & have a look, this is what has made these cards cool to me. fvzappa, I do agree that some Alt. 4th the cards look amazing.  I was personally quite drawn to the Veteran Bodyguard that I had, but I just don't think that ...

Re: StarCityGames.com Offers Alt 4th cards for Sal

I think one reason that Alt. 4th won't command as high a price as Summer (or even P3K) is because it's not as cool.  There's tons of 4th out there, and there aren't any cards such as duals, Sol Ring, Demonic Tutor, blue Hurricanes, corrected Serendib Efreets, etc. to add to the mystique of the ...

Re: square cut oversized island

I have packs of 6x9 basic lands as well as Adarkar Wastes and Karplusan Forest.  They are all wrapped in shrink-wrap cellophane, so it seems unlikely that there would be any crimps, but there could very well be marks from handling.

Re: signed Pete Venter Magic Print * euro gencon '

If it was unblemished (no sig or whatnot), then it would be worth more.  But with the signature, it kinda draws attention away from the artwork, which causes it to lose its appeal. I agree that looks like a great print.  I think that if you were to matte and frame the print then the signa...

Re: Talking about Serious Misprints.

On the Weakstone/Island one, does anyone know which card the faint staff is from?  I had even missed seeing that the first time I looked at the card and had just picked out the Weakstone and Island.

Re: What was your first Magic combo?

This wasn't my first Magic combo, but certainly my favorite:  Aisling Leprechaun, Lure, Regeneration, Lifelace and COP: Green.  It was my St. Patrick's Day theme deck!  I actually won a couple games, but mostly lost horribly. My first combo was probably Lure and Thicket Basilisk as ma...

Re: the heck are these?

I agree that it's simply a rating of some sort for the cards in the new expansions and outlining different strategies that can be used.  The authors of the books were well known players of the time and aren't affiliated with WOTC at all.

Re: best card storage?

Not many links have been posted to suppliers, but I have had good luck with http://www.bcwsupplies.com They have great prices for top loaders and cardboard storage boxes.  I haven't actually used their album pages, but I suspect that they're fine.  The site isn't arranged the best and you ...

Re: Advice needed (Ebay)

I don't see any reason why you couldn't file a mail fraud complaint with the postal service.  It's not like using Ebay limits your rights to go through other channels.  As long as you have the person's address you should be good to go.
