Re: Ice Age on double card stock?
why the h*ll would someone fake a pufferextract? I could see making just about any card if it were needed as a proxy for a deck. Color printers are so common now and there are good card images available all over, so I could easily see someone making good looking proxies rather than writing on...

Re: Life Size Statues from WotC Store on eBay
I know a certain forum member who would love some pictures/info on the Shivan Dragon sculpture :) Check out here for some basic information on the Shivan Dragon: http://kim_sculptor.home.comcast.net/gallery/shivan.html I have no idea how anyone would be able to store this (were they able to somehow...

Re: New filler?
I'm pretty sure that I can see a blacker border to the card. I can only see it by tilting my monitor (a flat panel) to look at it. It's impossible to notice without tilting the monitor, but the computer is clearly displaying the border region as darker than the rest of the card. I ...

That seems to be a popular refrain, but it does seem warranted most of time as of late.

Re: Treachery with double foil layer on top!
I've seen a number of people on MOTL listing crimped cards on their haves list, and at least a couple other people that said they were looking for crimped cards. The phenomenon has certainly grown past just you and tha_gunslinga.crimps are mainstream? woohoo!

Re: Treachery with double foil layer on top!
Most people rate foils with cutlines as worth less than regular foils. I don't yet know of anyone that collects foils with cutlines. There's a collecting niche waiting to be exploited! With enough persistence it can turn into something just like crimps and actually be desirable (maybe --...

Re: can we trust this dude/auction?
The thing that most gives me pause about the seller is that he has no feedback between 2001 and now. It looks like he was mostly buying Magic cards previously (and not really selling much), so that's at least consistent with his current auction. If I were bidding I would trust him on sma...

Re: The sniping topic
All that Erl00 is saying is that people must in effect register to bid within the last 10 minutes by placing a bid sometime earlier in the auction. That would give everyone an indication of who the players are in the auction, the level of interest and a better indication of what the final pric...

Uncut Vanguard sheet
I've been slowly acquiring the Vanguard cards that I need to fill out a complete collection, and I ran across this auction for an uncut sheet of series 2 Vanguard cards: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19115&item=5943193044&rd=1 Does anyone have an idea of how common uncut Van...

Re: ebay miscellaneous question post..
I should revise this slightly, as it's doesn't completely reflect all of my thinking with regard to Ebay auctions (and some of the prices are off), but it's still very close to what I believe to be the best approach to selling regular cards on Ebay. Items that are rare (misprints, Summer, etc....

Re: The confession topic
i actually believe snipping only works when others are doing it. i mean, if everyone's max bid really *is* their max bid (and assuming no new bidders appear) snipping will get you the same price you would have otherwise gotten. Sniping works because not everyone knows the real value of what t...

Re: Misprint foil Saga Island
If you're trying to erase parts of cards, one tip that Randy Buehler gave on WotC's site one time was to mask off the areas that you want to keep with tape. Then, when you're done just remove the tape and you'll be left with beautiful, crisp edges. The Saga Island could have benefited qu...

Misprint foil Saga Island
Here's an Ebay auction of an unusual foil Saga Island (not my auction):

I have requested a scan of the card to see if it looks legit or whether it is a modified card.

Doesn't anyone use scissors or a knife to open packs any more? It seems the fastest, easiest and least damaging method for opening packs.
