I'm curious as to what the spacers are made out of.  Is it just little blocks that go at strategic points between layers, or is it something else?

The one done with the DCI Balance was rather impressive; both in execution and in actually getting the cards to make it out of.  As the article says, a 3D Lotus would look wicked ... too bad it would cost about as much as a Lotus to make (the sportscar)

WotC is terrible about checking the templates, especially foreign sets.  Makes for a slew of unique-ish cards, though, which isn't all bad for the import market :)
